Six months after being expelled by All India Chess Federation (AICF) for its acts of omission and commission, Orissa State Chess Association (OSCA) seems to be mending its style of functioning.
It was evident from two important decisions the expelled body took in a special meeting held at Bhubaneswar yesterday. According to OSCA secretary Smruti Ranjan Das, it was decided to take steps to affiliate new district units where none exists.
Presided over by OSCA working president J K Hota, the meeting also decided to introduce an inter district championship in order to boost competitive spirit among district units. According to secretary Das, the new championship would be conducted this year from November 26 to 29.
